A three-day photography exhibition titled “Voice of Coastal Climate Resilience” began in Dhaka on Thursday, showcasing the struggles, leadership and adaptation efforts of women living in Bangladesh’s climate-vulnerable coastal regions. The exhibition, organized under the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) Gender-responsive Coastal Adaptation (GCA) Project with support from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Government of Bangladesh, was inaugurated at Drik Gallery in Panthapath. Through visual storytelling, the exhibition highlights how women in coastal communities are adapting to challenges such as salinity intrusion, cyclones, river erosion and livelihood insecurity. The photographs document women-led initiatives and local adaptation practices aimed at strengthening community resilience against climate change impacts. Organizers said women’s contributions to climate resilience often remain underrepresented despite their critical role in supporting families and communities in disaster-prone coastal areas. They said the exhibition aims to raise public awareness about women-led climate adaptation and the importance of inclusive and community-driven resilience efforts. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Environment, Forest and Climate Change State Minister Shaikh Faridul Islam; National Project Director of the GCA Project and Additional Secretary under the Department of Women Affairs Md Abdul Hye Al Mahmud; UNDP Assistant Resident Representative and Head of Resilience and Inclusive Growth Cluster Sarder M Asaduzzaman; and UNDP Bangladesh Head of Communication Md Abdul Quayyum, among others. The exhibition will continue until May 23 at Drik Gallery, Level 2, DrikPath Bhobon, 16 Sukrabad Road, Panthapath, and will remain open to visitors daily from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The showcase features around 85 photographs by AB Rashid. In addition to the physical exhibition, the photographs are also being displayed on a virtual platform. The GCA Project, implemented by UNDP with support from the Green Climate Fund and the Government of Bangladesh, works to strengthen climate resilience and adaptive capacity in coastal communities, particularly among women, by improving access to safe water, livelihoods and adaptation support to address climate-induced salinity intrusion.

Renowned photographer Bashir Ahmed Sujan's exclusive solo panoramic photography exhibition ‘Stand Up, Dhaka’ (Darao, Dhaka) was inaugurated on Friday at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD), Dhanmondi in the capital. A book under the same title was also launched at the inauguration ceremony, published by Duniyadari Archives. This is Bangladesh's first vertical panoramic photography exhibition, providing a new and dynamic approach to exhibition and book-making in terms of format and gallery design. On Friday afternoon, the exhibition was inaugurated by Khondoker Mostafizur Rahman, Director General of Bangladesh National Museum as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony.  Eminent photographer Nasir Ali Mamun joined the event as its special guest, while Francois Grosjean, Director of Alliance Française de Dhaka and Architect Nurur Rahman Khan also attended the event as the guest of honour.

A nine-day solo photography exhibition on internationally famed Bangladeshi artist Shahabuddin Ahmed titled ‘Shahabuddin: The Painter, The Fighter’ by Iftekhar Wahid Iftee began at the Zainul Gallery of the Fine Art Faculty of Dhaka University (DU) on Thursday.
