Bangladesh finish 4th in two team events at Asia Cup Archery in Singapore
Bangladesh secured fourth place in both the recurve men’s team and compound women’s team events at the 2025 Asia Cup World Ranking Archery Tournament (Stage-2) held in Singapore on Wednesday.
In the recurve men’s team event, the Bangladesh trio of Abdur Rahman Alif, Ram Krisna Saha and Mohammad Rakib Miah narrowly missed out on a podium finish after a 3-5 defeat to Chinese Taipei in the bronze medal match.
Earlier in the competition, the Bangladeshi recurve team displayed strong performances, blanking the Philippines 6-0 in the round of 16 before edging past Kazakhstan in a tense tiebreaker, winning 27-26 to reach the semifinals. However, they fell short against India, losing 1-5 in the semifinal clash.
Meanwhile, in the compound women’s team event, the Bangladeshi side comprising Puspita Zaman, Bonnya Akter and Kulsum Akter Moni also settled for fourth place, going down 224-230 to Kazakhstan in the bronze medal decider.

They reached the last four by defeating Hong Kong China 230-221 and then outclassing Indonesia 230-225 in the quarterfinal and semifinal, respectively. But they narrowly lost to Malaysia 221-224 in the semis, ending their hopes of a medal.
In the compound men’s team event, the Bangladeshi trio of Himu Bachar, Newas Ahmed Rakib and Sohel Rana were eliminated in the quarterfinals after a 218-222 defeat to Bhutan.
Bangladesh will continue their campaign on Thursday, participating in the recurve mixed team and compound mixed team events.
A total of 204 archers — 105 men and 99 women — from 20 Asian countries are competing in the tournament.

Asia Cup Archery: Bangladesh reach recurve men's, women's team finals
Bangladesh reached the finals of the recurve men's and women's team events of the Asia Cup World Ranking Archery Tournament, Stage-2, held in Iraq on Sunday.
Bangladesh reached the recurve men's team final eliminating Iran by 29-24 score in the tie- breaker as the semifinal match between two teams was locked in 4-4 sets.

Earlier Bangladesh recurve team comprising Ruman Shana, Hakim Ahmed Rubel and Abdur Rahman Alif beat hosts Iraq by 6-0 sets in the quarter final.
Bangladesh will play the final against India on May 11.
Bangladesh women's team of Nasrin Akter, Diya Siddiqui and Beauty Roy moved into the recurve women's team event final eliminating Uzbekistan by 5-1 sets in the semifinal.

Bangladesh will face neighboring India in the event's final, also on May 11.
In the recurve mixed team event, Bangladesh team studded with Ruman Shana and Nasrin Akter were eliminated from quarterfinal losing to Kazakhstan by 3-5 sets.

Asia Cup Archery: Bangladesh team earn two silver, one bronze medal
Bangladesh Archery team clinched two silver and one bronze medal in the 2021 Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament, Stage 1, concluded at the Korean city of Gwang Ju on Friday.
Six BKSP archers took part in the five-day Asian meet under the banner of Bangladesh team.

Sheikh Sajib and Puspita Zaman of Bangladesh clinched the silver medal of the mixed team event losing to Korean pair Kim Jongho and SO Chaewon Korean by 146-155 score in the final on the last day of the meet on Friday.
In the men's compound team, Bangladesh team comprising Sheikh Sajib, Himu Basar and Asif Mahmud also earned the silver medal losing against Choi Yonghee, Kang Donghyeon and Kim Jongho of Korea by 205-235 score in the final.

Besides, Prodipta Chakma and Rajani Akter of Bangladesh won a bronze medal in the recurve mixed team event.
Bangladesh team will return home Sunday.

Asia Cup Archery: Bangladesh team to fly for Philippines on Sept 8
Dhaka, Aug 30 (UNB) – A six-member Bangladesh National Archery team will leave here for Philippines on September 8 early hours to compete in the Stage-3 competition of the Asia Cup-World Ranking Archery Tournament 2019 aiming for medal and as well to improve their rankings in world archery.
