The 2nd unofficial four-day test match between touring Bangladesh A team and hosts West Indies A team ended in a draw on the 4th and final day at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium , Gros Islet in St Lucia on Saturday.After the match, the two-match first class series between the two teams ended in 0-0 draw.Sent into bat first, the 2nd string Bangladesh team, riding on a century by Saif Hasan, declared the first innings scoring 300 runs for 9 against hosts West Indies on the 3rd day (Friday).

Sabbir, Soumya added to Bangladesh A team for WI tour
Batters Sabbir Rahman and Soumya Sarkar, who lost the national team place for their lean performance in the international arena, have been added to Bangladesh A team that will tour the West Indies next month.
Sabbir played his last international match against Afghanistan in Chattogram back in September 2019, while Soumya’s last match was against Australia in Dubai in 2021.
Now both the batters get a new chance to revive their international career. If they can do well in the forthcoming tour, the first in many years, of the Bangladesh A team, they might get a call to the national team in the coming years.
Along with them, Mohammad Mithun and Saif Hassan will also tour the West Indies for Bangladesh A. Both Mithun and Saif failed to impress when they played in the national team for the last time.
Bangladesh A team will arrive in St Lucia on July 31, and they will play two four-day matches and three one-dayers. All the matches will be played at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.

The first four-day match will begin on August 4 while the second one will commence on August 7. The one-dayers are scheduled to be played on August 16, 18 and 20.

Murad shines with 47/6 against Bangladesh A
Hasan Murad shone with the ball for Bangladesh Cricket Board high-performance unit (HP) against Bangladesh A team on the first day of the four-day practice match in Chattogram Wednesday.
The left-arm spinner bagged six wickets for 47 runs. Bangladesh A scored 273/9 in 89.1 overs at stumps.
HP won the toss and opted to bowl first. They removed Bangladesh A openers within 11 runs. Saif Hassan posted only 2 runs, while Sadman Islam scored 6. Both fell to right-arm pacer Sumon Khan.
In the third wicket stand, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque added 88 runs. Rejaur Rahman broke the partnership by removing Mominul for 62.

Mohammad Mithun, Yasir Ali and Irfan Shukkur failed to impress with the bat as they perished on 5, 0, and 0. All of them were removed by 20-year-old left-arm spinner Murad.
However, Nayeem Hasan and Shahidul Islam scored 32 and 36. Both of them were removed by Murad.
So far, Murad has played only two first-class, 14 List A, and six T20s matches. He did well during his U-19 cricketing days.
