BSF ‘pushes in’ 19 more through Sylhet border
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) reportedly pushed 19 more people into Bangladesh through Sylhet border early Tuesday.
Those pushed included six men, six women and seven children.
Lt Col Mohammad Nazmul Haque, commandant of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-48 Battalion in Sylhet, said the BSF pushed the people through Jaintapur upazila border around 5am.
BSF pushes in 11 through border into Feni
On information, the BGB personnel went to the scene and detained them for intrusion, he said, adding that they were later handed over to Jaintapur Police Station later.
Despite repeated objections from Bangladesh, the push-ins by the BSF continued along the borders.

BSF pushes 19 people into Bangladesh: BGB
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has taken into custody 19 people from two separate border areas in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar after they were pushed into Bangladesh from India.
Five people were detained from Bagichhara and 14 from Champachhara area of Islampur union border of the upazila at around 4 am on Friday. Among those arrested are children and women.
The detainees are being kept at BGB's Bagichara BOP and Champachhara BOP, and their information is being verified.
Border Guard Bangladesh 46 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Zakaria said that 19 people were pushed into Bangladesh on Friday. BGB patrols detained 5 people from the Bagichara border area of Kamalganj at around 4 am and 14 people from the Champachhara border area around 7 am. The first 5 people are being handed over to Kamalganj Police Station. These 5 are residents of Kurigram. The information of the rest is being verified.

The BGB said that the process of handing over the detained Bangladeshi nationals to Kamalganj Police Station is under process.
Kamalganj Police Station OC (Investigation) Shamim Akonji confirmed the incident and said that the 19 people detained by the BGB have not yet been handed over to the police station.

A second Bangladeshi youth shot dead by 'Indian Khasias' along Sylhet border
A Bangladeshi youth has been killed by gunfire allegedly from Indian Khasia community at the Dumdumia border area in Bichnakandi, under Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet.
The deceased has been identified as Sabuj Mia, 20, son of Abul Mia, a resident of Phitorgul Pahartoli village in Gowainghat.
Three killed in clashes between rival groups in Madaripur
According to local sources, the body of Sabuj Mia was found lying inside the Indian border about 200 yards from pillar number 1261 of the Damdamia border.
Later, locals informed the BGB and police.
Gowainghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sarkar Tofail Ahmed said Sabuj Mia's father Abul Hossain filed a general diary with the police station.

Earlier on Thursday, another teenager from Sylhet was shot dead by Indian Khasias while attempting to cross the border illegally into India.

13 Bangladeshis detained by India’s BSF across Sylhet border, locals say
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has detained 13 Bangladeshi nationals near the Tamabil Sonatila border in Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet district, locals say.
According to local sources, the Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended on Sunday night and subsequently transferred to Jowai Police Station in Meghalaya of India on Monday.

However, no formal notification has been filed by the families of the detainees with the Gowainghat or Jaintiapur police stations in Bangladesh.
The detained individuals are reportedly residents of various areas in Gowainghat and Jaintiapur.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tofayel Ahmed of Gowainghat Police Station said, “We have heard reports that several youths were detained by the BSF. Among them, one is from Gowainghat and the remaining 12 are from Jaintiapur.”
However, no official communication has been made to us, and the identities of the detainees remain unknown, he added.

Lieutenant Colonel Md Hafizur Rahman, Commanding Officer of the 48 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion, confirmed hearing about the incident through informal sources.
However, there was no information from their families or BSF, he said.
