Jubo Dal to hold nationwide protests Thursday over law and order
Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, the youth wing of the BNP, will hold demonstrations across the country, including in Dhaka, on Thursday to protest against the worsening law and order situation.
The programme was announced in a press release issued on Sunday, signed by Jubo Dal Assistant Office Secretary Minhazul Islam Bhuiyan.
It said the leaders and activists of the BNP’s youth wing will bring out protest processions in all districts and metropolitan cities.
Jubo Dal expels 2 leaders over murder in Old Dhaka
In Dhaka, they will take out a procession from in front of the BNP’s Nayapaltan central office at 2pm. It will pass through Fakirapool, Dainik Bangla intersection, the National Press Club, Matsya Bhaban, and end at Shahbagh.
Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan have urged all units of the organisation across the country to make the programme a success.

Jubo Dal expels 2 leaders over murder in Old Dhaka
Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal on Friday expelled two of its leaders for life following the murder of a scrap trader in front of the main gate of Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford) Hospital in the old part of the capital.
The expelled leaders are Jubo Dal’s former Climate Affairs Assistant Secretary Razzab Ali Pintu and its Dhaka South City unit Joint Convener Sabah Karim Lucky.
In a statement, Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Nurul Islam Nayan said the two have been expelled from all posts, including primary membership, for life.
They said the decision has come into effect immediately.
Explosion in old Dhaka leaves five family members critically injured
The statement said trader Mohammed Sohag, 39, was hacked and beaten to death in broad daylight at the hospital gate.
Shohag’s family later filed a case, naming several accused, including the two Jubo Dal leaders.
Jubo Dal said it will not take responsibility for any criminal acts committed by the expelled leaders.
It instructed all party activists and members to sever organisational ties with them.
The party also urged law enforcement agencies to take immediate legal action without any leniency.

BNP’s associate bodies announce road march on Sept. 16-17
Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Swechchasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal under the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have jointly announced a road march programme on September 16 and 17.
The protest aims to realise a one-point demand --removal of the current government and appointment of an election-time government, said Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku during a press conference held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Wednesday (September 13, 2023).

"Our primary objective is to assert our right to vote by challenging the current government. We are also committed to restoring democracy, a fundamental pillar of Bangladesh's independence,” he said.
Tuku said they would organise the road march on September 16 in Rangpur to Dinajpur, and on September 17 from Bogura to Rajshahi.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will inaugurate the protest march as the chief guest while senior BNP leaders are also expected to join.

"Similar to previous demonstrations, we encourage everyone, including motorcycle riders, to join our road march programme,” Tuku said.
“We hold great hope that the youths of our nation will come forward--peacefully and democratically--to take part in this movement. Our objective is to mobilise popular support and bring about a change in government leadership,” he said.
