Three factory workers who died yesterday shortly after having iftar, were among five who drank juice outside the dining service of the company, according to Walton Hi-Tech Industries. Signed by the company’s Deputy Managing Director, Md Humayun Kabir, a press release reads that all Walton employees are particularly instructed not to eat any food other than that provided by the company. Another worker also fell sick and is undergoing treatment, it added. The doctors, however, could not identify the exact cause of their death.

Electronics and tech company Walton has launched its Digital Campaign Season 17. Under the campaign, customers can get 101 free products and vouchers of up to Tk1 lakh and products on the purchase of refrigerators, televisions, air conditioners and washing machines. The announcement of Digital Campaign Season 17 was made at a programme in Dhaka Wednesday. The campaign will run till April 30, Walton said. The company is now manufacturing and marketing 200-plus models of refrigerators of various capacities. Prices of these fridges range between Tk14,990 to Tk1,13,990.  Also, Walton's LED and Smart TVs are available for Tk12,900 to Tk110,000.

Walton has launched a new model of Takyon electric bike at an affordable price. The eco-friendly Takyon Leo e-bike comes in three versions which can run for 40-80 kilometres on a single charge. ICT Division Director General Md Mostafa Kamal recently launched the TAKYON Leo e-bike at Walton headquarters in Chandra of Gazipur. Walton e-bike is the first in the segment in Bangladesh that got the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority's (BRTA) approval, the company said. Currently, four versions of two models of Walton e-bikes are available in the market. With its portable charger, the e-bike can be charged from the 220-volt power line used in the residence. Takyon Leo has three versions with 12AH, 20AH and 23AH batteries. The price of the 12Ah version is Tk49,850, and it can run for 40 kilometres on a single charge. The 20Ah version can provide 70-kilometre mileage and is selling for Tk56,850. The 23Ah version is priced at Tk59,850 and can run for 80 kilometres on a single charge.
