Blast at Dhaka's Moghbazar leaves 4 injured
At least four people were injured in an explosion in Dhaka's Moghbazar area earlier today (January 24, 2023).
The blast occurred at around 9:45 am in front of a medicine store in the Moghbazar Wireless area and the injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station.
The injured are Saiful Islam, 36; Tareq, 20; Abul Kalam, 25; and Md Shaheen, 30.

The reason behind the explosion could not be known yet, added the OC.
"However, we are looking into whether it was a crude bomb or anything else," said Abul Hasan.
The injured are now receiving treatment at the hospital, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police outpost.

“All are out of danger,” he added.
22km long tailback from Tongi to Moghbazar in Dhaka
Dhaka commuters have been stuck in massive traffic jam since this morning (January 12, 2023) as a 22km long tailback has formed from Tongi Bridge to Moghbazar in the city.
The gridlock stretched from Tongi Bridge-Abdullahpur-Airport to Mohakhali-Moghbazar areas of Dhaka — causing untold sufferings for commuters.
Vehicular movement in parts of Dhaka came to a standstill for hours due to the huge pressure of Ijtema-bound vehicles in Tongi.

Moghbazar building fire doused
The fire, which broke out at a building in Moghbazar intersection in the city on Monday, was doused completely after one hour of effort by firefighters.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The fire broke out on the 3rd floor of the four-story building around 3:15 pm and spread soon, said Khaleda Yeasmin, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters.

On information, three firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 3:55 pm.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit at a store room of a shop ‘Trade Zone’ produced bakery items, including chocolates. The flame was completely doused at around 4:25 pm.
However, no casualty was reported in the fire incident.
Pressed between 2 buses, teen dies at Moghbazar
A teenage face-mask vendor was killed being pressed between two buses in the city’s Moghbazar area on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Rakibul, 14, of Peyarabagh in Moghbazar area.
Rakibul got pressed between the two buses of Ajmeri Paribahan competing with each other at Moghbazar intersection around 5:40 pm, said Harunur Rashid, another vendor of the area.
Rakibul was taken to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical Hospital (DMCH) with severe injuries where doctors declared him dead, said Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.
Dhaka College student run over by train
A Dhaka College student was knocked down by a train in the capital’s Moghbazar on Saturday.
