SRB-3 steps up security to prevent sabotage, other crimes in city
Special Response Battalion-3 (SRB-3) has intensified security measures to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident, criminal activity or disorder of the capital.
Checkposts and search operations, robust patrolling and motorcycle patrols have been strengthened across the areas under its responsibility, including Dhaka city, particularly in crowded areas, key installations, key point installations (KPIs) and major roads, says Additional SP (Media officer of SRB-3) Mehedi Imran Siddiqi.
Special operations are also being conducted to recover illegal firearms and narcotics, prevent theft and mugging, and thwart sabotage, he said.
Suspected individuals and vehicles are being searched as part of the intensified security measures.
The SRB-3 has instructed its personnel on duty to ensure that the movement of the general public is not disrupted during the operations.
Alongside increased patrols and checkposts, intelligence surveillance has also been intensified. Members of the SRB-3’s field intelligence (FS) team are continuing surveillance of criminal groups.
The SRB-3 said its operations against criminals will continue to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
