Bongo launches embedded shorts for online media publishers
Video streaming platform Bongo has launched short video clips for online media publishers to embed on their websites or mobile applications.
Online media publishers are finding it hard to retain users as many have now moved away from reading to watching short videos and clips in this age of TikTok, Instagram reels and YouTube shorts.
Producing videos daily or even writing articles is not an easy task. Bongo wants to make life easier for online media publishers by providing entertaining short clips which they can embed on their website or mobile app just as easily as embedded YouTube videos. Grameenphone's self-service solution MyGP app and Brac Bank's Astha app already adopted this solution to showcase video content to their users.

From Bongo, online media partners can choose from more than 15,000 hours of content and a partner network of content creators that have more than 30,000 hours of content. They can choose the categories of content they want to showcase to their users.
Bongo's library of content is already being used by other platforms such as Binge, Bioscope and other OTT platforms.
Bongo brings Bangla dubbed 'Bilal'
Video streaming platform Bongo has released the Bangla dubbed version of animation film "Bilal" dubbed in Bangla.
The film is based on the true story of how Bilal proved himself as a fearless warrior of the Islamic empire and became the first muezzin in the history of Islam.
The main characters of the animated film are voiced by Adewale Ekinnuye-Agbaje, Ian McShane, China Anne McLain and others.
Many of the crew members of this movie worked in famous Hollywood animation films like "Shrek" and "Monsters Inc."

The story's central characters Bilal and his sister Gufaira are the children of Princess Hamama of Abyssinia. A group of robbers ambush and kill Hamama and kidnap teenage Bilal and teenage Gufaira. They take them thousands of miles away in the desert, and later sell them as slaves to an idol merchant.
Directed by Khurram H Alavi and Aiman Jamal, Bilal was nominated in the best animated feature film category at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Asia's most prestigious film award.
The film was awarded in the best inspiring movie category at the Animation Day of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. It also won the best innovative movie award at the Broadcast Pro Middle East Awards.
Bongo brings 'The Groomsmen' as 'Bhai Brothers'
Video streaming platform Bongo has released American comedy film "The Groomsmen," dubbed in Bangla as "Bhai Brothers."
The story revolves around a groom and his four groomsmen.
The Groomsmen stars Edward Burns, Jessica Capshaw, Spencer Fox, John Leguizamo, Matthew Lillard, Brittany Murphy, and Donal Logue.

The film's screenplay was written and directed by the film's protagonist Edward. And it was said the inspiration for the film comes from the real life of Edward and her then-girlfriend, supermodel Christy Turlington.
Paulie (Edward), a writer by profession, is getting ready to marry her long-term girlfriend Sue (Brittany), who is five months pregnant. He feels a little bit frightened of this greater responsibility of being both husband and father.
When Paulie is fighting with greater confusion, his childless envious big brother Jimbo influences him not to get married. But the story does not end here.

Bongo brings Bangla dubbed 'Kaalidas'
Video streaming platform Bongo has released the Bangla dubbed version of South Indian film "Kaalidas," a true mass suicide story-based action, crime, mystery-thriller starring Bharath Srinivasan and Ann Sheetal.
The story is about Kaalidas (Bharath), a dedicated policeman who is tasked with investigating a series of apparent suicides in his city. However, it puts a strain on his marriage with Vidyaa (Ann Seethal), who soon seeks solace in their new tenant Aarav.
The film opens with an aerial shot of a multi-storey apartment. A girl falls from the terrace and dies on the spot. A small police team, headed by Kaalidas, examines the body and assumes it to be a suicide case.

The case turns interesting when several other such incidents happen that leave Kaalidas perplexed. His superior, ACP George (Suresh Menon), also assists Kaalidas in solving these mass suicide mysteries. But unknown to Kaalidas, his wife Vidya parts with him as she feels her husband does not spend enough time with her.
Also, Vidya falls for Aarav who is not only their tenant but also seems to have connections with the murder traces that Kaalidas follows.
Written and directed by Sri Senthil, storyline for the South Indian crime mystery thriller film "Kaalidas" was developed over five months, from October 2017 to February 2018. In March 2018, the shooting started. Finally, it was released on December 13, 2019, and became a box office success.

The film was first released on the Day of Valentine's on February 14, 2020. Korean Web Series "Operation Proposal Loosely Inspires this Movie."
The film was also selected for official screening at the International Indian Film Festival in Toronto, held in August 2020.
The film won South Indian International Movie Awards-SIIMA (Tamil) for Best Actor Critics (Ashok Selvan) in 2021. Also got five nominations for SIIMA Awards 2021: Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Film, Best Cinematographer, Best Actress in a Supporting Role & Best Music Director.

Bongo brings Bangla dubbed 'Beauty and the Beast'
Video streaming platform Bongo has released the Bangla dubbed version of romance-fantasy film "Beauty and the Beast."
In the French-German co-production, Léa Seydoux performed as Beauty and Vincent Cassel as the Beast. Christophe Gans directs the film. The film first premiered in France on February 12, 2014, and was later released in Berlin, Germany, on February 14 that year.
Beauty and the Beast originates from the original Grimm fairytale of Beauty and the Beast, which is taken from classic French folktales.
The story starts when a widowed merchant shipwrecks on the sea and becomes bankrupt. He has to move countryside from the lavishing city with his six children. Despite this sudden change, nobody except the merchant's younger daughter Belle seems happy.

One day the merchant gets the news that one of his ships safely reached the shore. With a surge of happiness, he asked his children what they wanted as a return gift. When everyone has a choice on their list, Belle only wishes to bring her father back safely with a rose for her.
With luck, the merchant takes refuge in a magical castle with a broken heart because he had to pay his debt with the ship's findings. But in the magical castle, all merchants' wishes came true until he took the liberty to take a mystical rose for her dear daughter Belle against the permission of the castle owner, The Beast. The merchant now needs to live with the Beast in his castle. Learning his father's fate, Belle took her father's place and went to the magical castle alone.
The film earned $49.1 million internationally. In Japan, it topped the box office on its release, making it the first non-English-language foreign film to top the Japanese box office since Red Cliff II in 2009 and the first French film to top the Japanese box office since Mathieu Kassovitz's The Crimson Rivers in 2001.
Bongo brings 'Harsh Times' as 'Bondhu Amar' Friday
Video streaming platform Bongo will release Christian Bale's "Harsh Times" dubbed in Bangla as "Bondhu Amar" Friday.
Christian Bale (Jim) plays the role of a Gulf War veteran, and he believes it is his sworn duty to protect Americans by policing the streets of Los Angeles. His dreams are shattered when he is rejected by the Los Angeles Police Department.

But, Jim is soon offered a position in the Department of Homeland Security, leading him to recruit his unemployed best friend Mike (Freddy Rodriquez). The story revolves around how they fight against a lurking crime.
Bongo already released comedy film "The Good Girl" dubbed in Bangla as "Nishidhdho Prem.'' Here, Jennifer Anniston portrays the role of a depressed woman who lives with her husband in a small local town in Texas. Out of boredom, she starts an affair.
Bongo brings South Indian film 'Kadaikutty Singam' as 'Bagher Baccha'
Video streaming platform Bongo has brought South Indian actor Karthi's film "Kadaikutty Singham," dubbed in Bangla as "Bagher Baccha."
The film is produced by his brother and South superstar Suriya. It is about values that are very close to their heart: the Indian joint family.
Bagher Baccha's is the story of the youngest son Gunasingam (Karthi) of a family, who despite being the son of the landlord, still works as a farmer. He is proud of his profession.

Gunasingam is also a popular cow cart racer. His life revolves around his large family and relatives who he loves very much. But when Gunasingam falls in love with village beauty Kannu Inniaala (Sayeesha Saigal) and decides to marry her instead of one of his nieces, his family is very disappointed. Gunasingam's once carefree life is now very troublesome.
Directed by Pandiraj, Bagher Baccha stars fine actors and actresses including Sathyaraj, Soori, Sayyeshaa, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Arthana Binu Ponvannan, Bhanupriya, Viji Chandrashekar, Sriman, Soundararajan, Yuvarani, Mounika, Ilavarasu, and Maarimuthu.
In 2019, the main protagonist of the film, Karthi, was nominated for best Tamil actor at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA).
Pandiraj was nominated in SIIMA as the best director in the Tamil film Industry. Soori won SIIMA award as the best Tamil comedian. Priya was nominated as the best supporting actress at the South Filmfare Awards.

Fashion and lifestyle broadcasting channel FashionTV has announced a major expansion to Bangladesh through its partnership with Bongo.
Bongo, the country's first video streaming service provider in Bangladesh, allows its network of more than 209 million subscribers to watch Bengali content online anytime, anywhere, said a media release on Thursday.

Bongo brings South Indian film 'NGK'
Video streaming platform Bongo released Sai Pallavi and Suriya's political film ''NGK," dubbed in Bangla, Friday.
The story revolves around an honest good doer whose life becomes a living hell due to the political conspiracy, selfishness and corruption surrounding him.
Nanda Gopal Kumar (Suriya), nicknamed NGK, is an environmental engineering graduate who resigns from his job to take up organic farming.
NGK is a do-gooder who always has people's welfare and best interest in mind. The youngsters of his small-town look up to him as a role model. He lives with his loving parents and a caring but possessive wife (Sai Pallavi).
However, the local politicians envy NGK's reach among the local youth. Ultimately a clash between city politicians and NGK erupts.
NGK was released in theatres on May 31, 2019.
Popular streaming platform Amazon Prime released the movie in Tamil on July 5, 2019, on their OTT platform. It is the first Tamil movie released in South Korea and Japan.
