Three people including two teachers were killed and four others were injured in a head-on-collision between an oil-tanker and a human hauler at Golna in Dumuria upazila of Khulna district on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Rafiqul Islam Gazi, driver of the human hauler and two teachers of Koyra upazila—Hafez Maulana Mainul Islam and Abdur Rashid.  Khulna University students stage protest over assault on a teacher The accident occurred in front of the local fire service and civil defence office in the morning when the oil tanker hit the Khulna-bound human hauler, leaving three killed on the spot and four others injured, said officer-in-charge of Dumuria Police Station Masud Rana. Two persons were killed and at least 11 others injured when a speeding bus hit a bike before plunging into a roadside ditch in Khulna on Wednesday morning, police said. The deceased were identified as biker Ali Osman of Khaliskhali village in Satkhira, and Abdul Khaleq of Golna village in Khulna. Ali Osman worked as a medical representative while Abul Khaleq was a logging worker. The accident occurred around 8.30am in the Gutudia area of Dumuria upazila. Read: Five killed in Rajbari road crash "The Satkhira-bound bus travelling at cruise speed crashed into the bike coming from the opposite direction and plunged into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control of the vehicle," said Mohammad Shafiq, sub-inspector at Dumuria Police Station. The crash left the biker and a bus passenger dead on the spot. "Of the injured, three are being treated at the upazila health complex while eight were shifted to Khulna Medical College and Hospital," he said.  

Four people were killed as a CNG auto rickshaw plunged into a ditch after being hit by a truck on the Khulna-Satkhira Highway at Dumuria upazila of Khulna on Friday. The deceased were identified as CNG driver Ilias Sardar, 45, son of Zakaria Sardar of Sharafpur in Dumuria, Reshma Khatun, 32, daughter of Mohiuddin of Rudaghara village. The identities of two others are yet to be known. Read: Two die in Naogaon road crash The accident occurred when a sand-laden truck hit the CNG on Khulna-Satkhira Highway near east Jilerdanga area around 2pm and then the CNG plunged into a roadside ditch. After four hours of frantic effort, the fire service recovered four bodies from the ditch at 6 pm. However, the CNG could not be recovered. Two bikers were crushed to death by a speeding truck on Khulna-Satkhira Highway on Friday morning, police said.
