A brilliant hattrick by Rakib Hossain guided five times champions Bashundhara Kings to advance to the 2nd slot in the  Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League Football  2024- 25 outplaying Youngmen's Club Fakirerpool by 7-2 goals at the Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur on Tuesday. With the day's feat, the Kings advance to the 2nd slot in the 10-team league toppling Dhaka Abahani Limited  securing 28 points from 16 matches by virtue of better goal difference Six times champions Dhaka Abahani went down to the 3rd slot due to poor goal differences despite of collecting 28 points from 15 matches, playing one match less than the Kings In the day's match, national forward Rakib Hossain made a hattrick scoring four goals in the 22nd, 68th, 77th and 88th minutes while Uzbekistan midfielder Asror Gafurov, Foysal Ahmed Fahim and Rafiqul Islam scored one each for the Kings in the 36th, 38th and 47th minutes respectively. In the day's other match, Brothers Union Club outplayed Dhaka Wanderers Club by 5-0 goals at the FL Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj  on Tuesday. National Men's Handball: Holders Bangladesh Ansar & VDP make flying start beating Joypurhat DSA Two Gambian booters Zakaria Darboe and Assan Njie  struck twice each while Nigerian booter Sunday Udoh netted the remaining goal for the Gopibagh outfit Brothers. The day's other match between newly crowned Dhaka Mohammedan SC and the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj MFS was abandoned at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla Tuesday afternoon The match will be played on Wednesday at 1pm at the same venue.

Holders Bashundhara Kings emerged Group A champions to reach the qualifier -1 of the Federation Cup Football' 2024-25 outplaying Dhaka Wanderers Club by 5-0 goal at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Tuesday.  In the day's match, Brazilian booter Miguel Damaseno put the Kings ahead in the 18th minute (1-0) while Sohel Rana Sr doubled the margin in the 40th minute (2-0) to dominate the first half 2-0. Kings took a 3-0 lead in the 55th minute by a gifted goal when Wanderers booter Russel sent the ball to his own net (3-0). Sohel Rana Jr further widen the Kings margin scoring the 4th goal in the 70th minute while defender Topu Barman sealed the fate of the match netting the 5th goal in the  77th minute. The day's other match between Brothers Union Club and Bangladesh Police FC ended in a goalless draw at the Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Tuesday. With the day's well merited victory, Bashundhara Kings finished Group A champions securing nine points from four group matches. Both the Brothers Union Club and Fortis FC have secured seven points each after playing all the four Group A matches, but Brothers Union finished group runners up to reach the qualifiers 2 by  virtue of head to head advantage, beating Fortis earlier. Federation Cup Football: Rahmatganj, Dhaka Abahani Ltd maintain all-win record beating their rivals Bashundhara Kings will now play Group B champions either Dhaka Abahani Ltd or Rahmatganj MFS to reach the final. In Group B, Rahmatganj MFS and Dhaka Abahani Limited maintained all–win run to reach the play-off stage (qualifiers/eliminator) with one match to spare and will meet each other on February 4 to decide the group champions.

Defending champions Bashundhara Kings will play Fortis FC Ltd in a Group A match of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football 2023-24 at 2:30 pm at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Tuesday. Brothers Union Club Ltd will meet Dhaka Wanderers Club in the other Group A match also at 2:30 pm at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Tuesday. Earlier in the tournament opener, last season’s treble winners Bashundhara Kings managed 1-0 goal victory over Brothers Union Club to dominate the Group A list securing full three points from one match. The other Group A opening match between Bangladesh Police FC and Fortis FC ended in a goalless draw to follow the league leader Kings securing one point each from one match. Brother Union Club yet to open the account losing the opening match to the Kings while Dhaka Wanderers Club yet to start the tournament. In the Group B, former champions Dhaka Abahani Limited and Rahmatganj MFS dominated the group securing full three points after playing their first match. The Sky-Blue Dhanmondi outfit Dhaka Abahani,without any foreign footballer,  made a flying start outplaying their minnow Chittagong Abahani Ltd by 3-0 goals while Rahmatganj MFS forced last time's runners up Dhaka Mohammedan SC to concede 0-1 goal defeat in the 10-team Federation Cup Football. Bangladesh edge out West Indies in thrilling first T20I Dhaka Mohammedan SC, which shocked last season's treble winners Bashundhara Kings beating them by 1-0 goal in their 2nd BPL match, made a frustrating journey in the Federation Cup Football losing to Rahmatganj MFS by 0-1 goal at the Bashundhara Kings Arena. This was the 2nd successive defeat for traditional black and whites Dhaka Mohammedan at the Basundhara Kings Arena (ground)  this season after conceding 1-3 defeat against the Kings in the one-match Challenge Cup Football recently. Later, he was adjudged player of the match. The day's other match between Bangladesh Police FC and Fortis FC ended in a goalless draw at the Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh. This year's Federation Cup Football is  being held in a new format without any semifinals. Bashundhara Kings clinched the season's curtain raiser soccer meet, the Bangladesh 2.0 Challenge Cup Football 2024-25,  beating Dhaka Mohammedan SC by 3-1 goals at the Basundhara Kings Arena here on Friday. Adviser for Youth and Sports Ministry Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan was the chief guest in the match and distributed the prizes. Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) introduced the Bangladesh 2.0 Challenge Cup as the season's curtain raiser football meet that was dedicated to the July-August student's uprising. The entire amount raised in ticket sales will be given to the July-August Martyrs Foundation. This was the first victory for the Kings’ Romanian Coach Valeriu Tita after conceding three successive defeats in international matches. In the day's lone match tournament, Captain Souleymane Diabate put the Federation Cup runners-up Mohammedan SC ahead in the 7th minute and dominated the first half by 1-0 goals. The BPL and Federation Cup champions Kings took control of the match in the 2nd half and won the match comfortably scoring three goals in a row. Defender Topu Barman leveled the margin for the Kings in the 74th minute by placing a shot from the danger zone, utilizing a corner of Brazilian midfielder Miguel Damasceno (1-1). Federation Cup champions  Bashundhara Kings took the lead from behind in the 81st minute when Foysal Ahmed Fahim scored the 2nd goal by brilliant shot, off a Miguel Damasceno cross (2-1). The Bhutanese referee gave 18 minutes additional time as the match was stopped for about ten minutes. Antigua Test: Bangladesh opt to bowl first Kings captain Miguel Damasceno, who played a vital role in the team's first two goals, finally sealed the fate of the match scoring the 3rd goal in the 7th minute of the additional time (90+9 minute). The country's most prestigious 10-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football will kick off on November 29 and the 10-team Federation Cup Football will begin on December 3 in a new format.

The crucial 5th round match between two soccer giants will kick-off at 2:45 pm at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj. Sheikh Jamal DC will meet Brothers Union Club in the day's other fixture at the Muktijoddha Smriti Stadium in Rajshahi on Friday, also at 2:45 pm. Defending champions Bashundhara Kings will start their campaign in the  country's most prestigious football meet, the 10-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) taking on Brothers Union in one of the four opening day matches on Friday (Dec 22). The first round match will kick-off at 4:30 pm at their home venue --Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Friday. Showdown in Trinidad: Decider of the England-West Indies T20I Series Besides, three more first round matches will be held on the opening day (Friday) at three venues across the country. Former champions Dhaka Abahani Limited will play Rahmatganj MFS at 2:30 pm at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj, Mohammedan SC will face Fortis SC at 2:30 pm at Muktijoddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi while Bangladesh Police will meet Chittagong Abahani also at 2:30 pm at Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh in other first round matches on Friday. BPL Football begins Friday; four matches on opening day Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will play Sheikh Russel KC in the remaining  first round match on Saturday (December 23) at 2:3O pm at the Bashundhara Kings Arena here. The 2nd round matches will be held on December 29 and 30. League champions Bashundhara Kings will meet traditional  black and whites Dhaka Mohammedan SC  Ltd in the first semifinal of the Federation Cup Football' 2022-23 on Tuesday (May 9) at 3:15 pm at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj. In the 2nd semifinal, Sheikh Russel KC will play former champions Dhaka Abahani Limited at 3:15 pm on May 16  at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla Earlier in the quarterfinals, Bashundhara Kings eliminated Muktijoddha SKC by 3-1 goal, Dhaka Abahani defeated Sheikh Jamal DC by 1-0 goal,  Mohammedan SC outplayed Chittagong Abahani Ltd by 4-1 goals while Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra beat Rahmatganj MFS by 1-0 goal. The final match between two winning semifinalists will be held on May 30 at 3:15 pm at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla The 3rd-place deciding match between two losing semifinalists will be held on May 23 the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.          

League champions Bshundhara Kings emerged Group B champions in the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football 2022-23 beating Chittagong Abahoni Limited by 2-0 goal at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Sradium in Cumilla on Tuesday.. They dominated the first half by a solitary goal . Local defender Topu Barman put the Kings ahead in the 40th minute (1-0) while Brazilian midfielder Miguel Ferrerira confirmed the winners victory scoring one more goal in the n55th minute (2-0).. Sumon Reza of the Kings and Mohammad Tarek of Ctg Abahoni got marching order in the 86th minute of the match after receiving direct red cards. In the day's other match, Bangladesh Muktijoddah Sangsad KC beat Fortis Football Club by 2-1 goalat the Fl. Lt Matiur Rahman Sradium in Munshiganj on Tuesday. Uzochukwn scored first for the freedom fighters team Muktijoddha in the 44th minute while Mohammad Sabuj neutralized the margin in the 85th minute. Sulemani scored the match winner for Muktijoddha SKC in the stoppage time (90+2 minute) of the match    

Defending champions Bashundhara Kings continued their unbeaten run in the eleven-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football Saturday after beating Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra 3-1 at the Bashundhara Sports Complex. Star-studded Kings topped the league table with 21 points from seven straight matches; second-placed Dhaka Abahani earned 15 points from as many encounters. Sheikh Russell remained in the fifth spot with 12 points from six matches. After a goalless first half, Brazilian forward Robson Robinho put the Kings ahead in the 65th minute from a penalty (1-0); Uzbek midfielder Asror Gafurov doubled the lead in the 73rd minute (2-0). Also Read: BPL Football: Sheikh Jamal DC beat Russell KC 3-2 Nigerian striker Sunday Udoy pulled one back for Sheikh Russell in the 82nd minute (2-1). Robinho sealed the fate of the match by scoring his second goal for the Kings in the fifth minute of the stoppage time (3-1). The day's other match between Bangladesh Police FC and Fortis Football Club ended in a 1-1 draw at the Muktijoddha Smriti Stadium in Rajshahi. Sakhawat Hossain found the back of the net for Fortis in the 37th minute. Edward equalised for Police FC just three minutes later. After the day's match, Police SC remained in the fourth spot on the table with nine points from seven matches. Fortis stayed in sixth place with seven points from six encounters.
