82,383 students get primary scholarships
A total of 82,383 students have got scholarships across the country in the Primary Scholarship Examination held in 2022.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain announced the results on Tuesday.
Among the students, 33,000 got scholarships under talent pool while 49,383 under general grade.
Talent pool scholarships recipients will get Tk 300 per month while recipients under general grade will get Tk 225.

Recipients of both grades will get Tk 225 for buying books.
The result aspirants will be able to see the results on the websites-www.dpe.gov.bd and www.mopme.gov.bd.
Apart from this, the results will be available at the offices of divisional deputy director, district primary education officer and upazila or thana education officer.
IGP hands scholarships to meritorious children of police families
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on Saturday called upon the meritorious students to come forward to fulfill the dream of making Bangladesh a developed, prosperous country in 2041 .
The IGP made the call while addressing the 'Bangladesh Police Merit scholarship-2022' awarding ceremony for the meritorious children of police families at Rajarbagh Bangladesh Police Auditorium this morning as chief guest. Additional IGP Kamrul Ahsan presided over the programme.
In his speech, the IGP addressed the meritorious students directly, saying: "If you (Students) have patriotism, you can fulfill your duties by being dedicated to the country even if you are outside the country. Just as you have brightened the faces of your parents with good results, you have also to be diligent in brightening the image of the country."

AIG (Education, Sports and Culture) Md. Sohail Rana delivered the welcome speech. Additional DIG Shahina Amin and ADC ABM Zakir Hossain of DMP spoke among the parents of meritorious students.
From the meritorious children who received the scholarships, Md. Abul Hasnat and Nazia Mumtahina, who succeeded in the SSC examination, and Mallik Faiz Islam Meehan and Farzana Haque who did similarly in the HSC, spoke on rthe occasion.
Additional IGs, senior police officers and meritorious students and their parents were present on the occasion.
151 Bangladeshi students get Erasmus+ scholarships
The European Union (EU) in Bangladesh, together with EU Member States, hosted a reception on Thursday for 151 Bangladeshi students who will benefit from an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters scholarship under the Erasmus+ programme.
The Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters programme offers fully-funded scholarships and the beneficiaries are awarded a joint, double degree, or multiple degrees, upon graduation.
Hans Lambrecht, Chargé d'Affaires of the EU said a flagship programme like Erasmus+, with a strong external dimension that aims to promote people-to-people exchanges, can and should be a game-changer.

"The new, larger programme for the period 2021-2027 has an increased budget of €26.2 billion," said Lambrecht.
It enables the EU to support new initiatives and attract an even greater number of participants.
"Worldwide and in Bangladesh, the demand for highly skilled, socially engaged people is increasing. We are proud to contribute to Bangladesh’s future through the Erasmus+ scholarships," said the diplomat.

Bangladesh is ranking third this year in terms of number of awarded scholarships
A total of 151 Bangladeshi students have received Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters scholarships to study in various European cities for completing a Masters degree in areas such as data science, engineering, climate change, gender studies, circular economy, public health, public policy and human rights.

The knowledge and skills gained will be applied in Bangladesh and contribute to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, said the EU Embassy in Dhaka.
BCBS, Canada offers scholarships for Bangladeshi students
Bangabandhu Centre for Bangladesh Studies in Canada (BCBS) has announced five scholarships to be awarded to Bangladeshi students studying in Canadian universities at the graduate and post-graduate levels in any session during the scholastic year 2021-2022.
High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Canada and the Chief Patron of the Bangabandhu Centre Dr Khalilur Rahman made the announcement seeking applications for the scholarships.

Applicants must be Bangladeshi citizens accepted as international students in any university within Canada for the winter term 2021-2022 in graduate or post-graduate studies in Canada.
The scholarships were announced in honour of the memories of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib and Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal and on the twin historic occasions of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the Golden Jubilee of the Independence of Bangladesh.

The thematic areas of the scholarships are Bangabandhu’s “Peace Philosophy” and its Role and Significance in building World Peace, Bangladesh as a Role Model for Development: Marching forward for realizing Bangabandhu’s Unfinished Dream of Sonar Bangla (The Golden Bengal), Bangabandhu’s “Health Philosophy” and its role in achieving today’s progress in health sector in Bangladesh, Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib’s contribution to politics and its significance in women’s increasing participation in contemporary politics in Bangladesh and Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal: The Architect of Modern Sports in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh, Hungary sign MoU over scholarships
Bangladesh and Hungary have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for 130 annual scholarships for Bangladeshi students.
The MoU secured Hungarian governments’ full scholarships under the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme for a yearly intake of 130 Bangladeshi students at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels for the next three years.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Slovenia Muhammad Abdul Muhith signed the MoU on behalf of the government of Bangladesh recently.

For the Hungarian side, the MoU was signed by State Secretary Dr Orsolya Pacsay-Tomassich, State Secretary for the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy and Scholarship Hungaricum Programme, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Bangladesh Ambassador was accompanied by Rahat Bin Zaman, Minister & Deputy Chief of Mission as well as the Bangladesh Honorary Consul in Budapest Dr. Greg. Pataki.
There are 30 dedicated scholarships for the students and professionals of nuclear energetics in the new MoU, which is a new initiative compared to the previous 100-scholarship per year programme for Bangladeshi students ran for three years.
The signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary in Budapest.

During the meeting before the Ceremony, the two sides had a fruitful discussion on the future roadmap for the growing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Hungary.
Important elements, such as an agreement on economic cooperation, establishment of a joint economic commission, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the health sector, operation follow-up on the existing bilateral instruments, including water management and agriculture, the Foreign Minister-level Joint Communiqué of September 2020, joint celebration of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Budapest this year, cooperation and reciprocal support mechanism at the multilateral level, and a possible memorandum of understanding to train Bangladeshi young diplomats at the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy came up for discussion.
