Indian, Pakistani killed in UAE gas blast that injured 120
A gas cylinder explosion in Abu Dhabi earlier this week that injured 120 people killed an Indian and a Pakistani national, authorities in those two countries said Thursday.
India's External Affairs Ministry said one Indian died and around 100 were injured in the blast Monday in Abu Dhabi’s Khalidiya neighborhood, just a few blocks from the Emirati capital’s beachfront corniche.

Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said the explosion killed one Pakistani and wounded others. Pakistani diplomats also visited a police station in the capital and said Emirati authorities promised to share more on their investigation.
The United Arab Emirates, a federation of seven desert sheikhdoms on the Arabian Peninsula, faces seasonal fires brought on by the intense heat that bakes this nation each summer. Temperatures hit 34 degrees Celsius (93 degrees Fahrenheit) on Monday.

In February, authorities say a similar gas cylinder explosion struck the capital at the height of concerns over attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels.
Indians and Pakistani make up much of the foreign workforce that powers the Emirates.
Body of Indian national recovered from Dauki River in Sylhet
The body of an Indian national was recovered from Dauki river at Jaflong in Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as truck driver Lestarson Pothao, 35, of Meghalaya state of India.

Police said locals spotted the body floating on the Dauki river at Ballaghat in Jaflong around 11am and alerted the police.
Lestarson Pothao went missing after a road accident on Thursday, said Omar Farooq Morol, inspector (Investigation) of Gowainghat police station.
The body was handed over to Indian police and Indian Border Security Force members on Sunday afternoon after completing legal procedures, he added.

Indian national held in Kurigram for illegal entry
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained an Indian citizen from Roumari bordering area of Kurigram on Saturday morning for entering Bangladesh territory without valid travel documents.The detainee was identified as Pashan Ali, 32, son of late Chattar Ali of Kuadanga village in Dhubri district of Assam.Khaledur Rahman, subedar of Dantbhanga BGB camp, said Pashan Ali entered Bangladesh from India illegally on Friday night. Tipped off, a BGB patrol team detained Pashan from the sub-pillar no. 1052 in the Roumari bordering area.
