Khagrachhari, Sep 25 (UNB)- Members of the military posted in Panchhari sub zone on Tuesday held a meeting with local businessmen, civil society and public administration, aiming to ensure communal peace in the district.
Brigadier General Hamidul Haque, Regional Commander, also chief guest of the programme, said without eliminating ‘illegal arms holders’, no sustainable peace can be achieved in the Hill Tracts.
He sought the help of locals to capture the extortionists and criminals.
He also asked those who remained armed to give up the way of the gun and return to normal lives for the sake of welfare and society and nation.
