The mortality rate stood at 1.46 percent, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
Besides, 1,049 new cases pushed the caseload to 509,148.
So far, 451,961 patients - 88.77 percent, with 1473 new ones, have recovered.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8. The infection number reached the 5,00000-mark on December 20.
The first death was reported on March 18 and the death toll exceeded 7,000 on December 12.
Until now, 3,171,1910 tests have been carried out, including 12,650 new ones. So far, 16.05 percent of the tests have turned out to be positive.

Bangladesh is seeing 2,989.60 infections, 2,653.81 recoveries and 43.76 deaths per million, the DGHS said.
The government has been warning of a second wave of Covid-19 in winter and urging people to properly follow health safety measures. It has adopted a ‘no mask, no service’ policy.
On Monday, the government announced that the country would get Covid-19 vaccines for some 45 million people by May-June next year.

“We’ll get 30 million doses for 15 million people at the end of January or early February next year. Sixty million more doses for 30 million people will arrive by May-June,” Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam told the media.
Covid-19 Global Situation
Global COVID-19 cases have surpassed 80 million since they were first reported a year ago, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.
The global case count reached 80,282,523, with a total of 1,756,584 deaths worldwide as of Sunday morning, the CSSE data showed, reports Xinhua.

The United States reported the most cases and deaths around the world, which stood at 18,943,541 and 331,754, respectively. India recorded 10,169,118 cases, ranking second in the world. Brazil followed India with 7,465,806 cases and the world's second largest death toll of 190,795.
Countries with more than 2 million cases also include Russia, France, Britain, Turkey and Italy, while other countries with over 50,000 deaths include India, Mexico, Italy, Britain, France, Iran and Russia, according to the CSSE tally.
Global cases hit 50 million on Nov 8, topped 60 million on Nov 25 and surpassed 70 million on Dec 11. It took 17 days for the global caseload to jump from 50 million to 60 million, 16 days from 60 million to 70 million and only 15 days from 70 million to 80 million.

The United States remains the worst-hit nation, accounting for more than 23 percent of the global cases.
US experts warned there could be a post-holiday surge given the considerable amount of travelers nationwide in the midst of the Christmas season.
